Lornah Kiplagat is the founder of the HATC and is 4 times World Champion. She is holder of the World records over 5 K, 10 Mile, 20 K and Half Marathon and competed two times for the Netherlands in the Olympics, in Athens 2004 and Beijing 2008. Het goal is the 2012 Olympic Marathon in London.

Lornah is especially known for running on the road, she has won almost eery major road race in the World and holds many course records. However, she has also won the World Championships Cross Country in Mombasa in 2007 and competed in nthe 2003 World Championships track and the 2004 and 2008 Olympics. At the end of 2008 she made the decision to focus much more on the road and especially the marathon.

Lornah won the marathons of LA (2x), Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Osaka and was 2nd in Chicago and 3rd in NYC Marathon.

She further won the Millenium Shoe Aaward from the UN and the Abebe Bikila Aaward. In 2006 and 2007 she was the AIMS World Athlete of the Year.

Lornah is also know because of what she is doing outise the sport. She is the founder of the Lornah Kiplagat Foundation, ambassador of the Min. of Developement in the Netherlands and ambassador of the Jeugd sport fonds in the Netherlands.
