Victory for Lornah in AppingedamLornah won in 2000 the "Stadsloop Appingedam" and the organisation of the race wanted Lornah back after 10 yars for the 2010 edition. She has always kept a good relationship with the race organisation and the race fitted in her schedule so Lornah decided to run on June 26 in Appingedam. The race is over 2 loops of each 5 K and goes through the city.

It was a pretty warm evening but Lornah felt very good. She was recovered very well from her 10 K in NYC and her physiotherapist Gerard Hartmann from Ireland helped her a lot. He also went with her to Appingedam. She arrived already the day before the race to do some media work and stayed in a very nice place just outside of Appingedam, Hotel Ekenstein so she was well rested before the race.

Race day she took it easy with a 45 minute morning run and a 30 minute warm up before the race. She started a bit too fast with a 1 K split time of 2:50 but slowed down when she realized she was too fast.

She finished in a time of 31:52, the 2nd fastest time ever in this race. Lornah will now go back to her High Altitude Centre in Iten, Kenya to prepare for the Dutch Championships 10 K in Tilburg on September 5th 2010.
